a little biologizing

1. A blue whale's heart is a big as a car. It's tongue weighs as much as an elephant and it's veins are big enough to swim in.

2. A giant squid has an eyeball as big as a soccer ball.

3. All living things are made of non living atoms.

Me and Rainbows

I was just sitting around one afternoon eating some skittles, lucky charms and some pot of gold chocolates and BAM! this rainbow just shoots through the window. Luckily I had my camera to capture this very rare moment.

cough cough

So the other night my computer got sick. She's better now, I asked her how she felt and this is what she told me...

I really love my computer and all, but sometimes I feel like we just aren't speaking the same language. I ask her how her day was and she's all like "root:xnu-792.6.56.obj~1/", then I'm like what you talking 'bout? and then she get's all up in my grill like "Latest stack backtrace for cpu 0: Backtrace: 0x00095718 0x00095C30 0x0002683C 0x002476F4 0x002471EC "

What up with that yo??

Holla at me if you know what I'm saying, know what I'm saying?

Building a Great World City for the 21st Century

Our Mayor is hosting a lecture at U of T on the 30th about what it takes to build a great city. And it's free.

Graffiti of the future

I'm sorry. I know it's monday morning and it's way to soon to be talking about the future, but this is really cool.

Own a piece of history?

So this is the a little weird. Some guy bought the domain that Mr. Osama used to own (that coincidently expired on sept 11, 2001), and now he is selling it off pixel by pixel. The guy sounds aight, he's donating the money to charity, etc. There is still something weird about it. How about we get some money together and buy Theodore Kaczynski's (aka unabomber) shack in the woods and sell ad space on it (that would have really pissed him off!!!)? Or maybe just sell it off in 1 ft x 1 ft pieces so that you can actually own a piece of american history.

Paul comes in 3rd

Image and text! Respect.

The ghost of kate moss

Sorry about the lame moto ad at the start of the video. Fast forward near the end of the video to see kate moss as a ghost. This is from Alexander McQueen latest fashion show. Imagine holgrams like that instead of mannequin in stores... I would enjoy that.

Alex Wins 2nd Prize

Dudek wins a special prize!

Geo Metro (my first typeface)

I'm way too tired to write anything about this right now, but this is my first typeface. The letters are blue, the numbers are red. And they are all found in the Paris Metro map. I will give whoever finds them all first a prize of 2.5 chocolate chip cookies and 3/8 of a glass of room temperature milk. The runner-up will receive a free copy of the font. Lucky you.

Remix Culture x 10

I don't know wtf numa numa is, but I do remember the first time I saw some guy lipsyncing / dancing to it online. Here is my nerd/beal comment of the day... Has remix culture (mind you I'm not sure if these are technically remixes as they aren't really changing the content so much as they are the context, non the less the meaning is being altered) always existed, but it's only now that technology is easy / cheap enough that this behaviour emerges? I propose a study of youtube concerning remix culture and what factors led to the amplification of this signal (chris shut the eff up, you are such an effing loser, don't say things like that)... Check out how many "remixes" of this song there are. This might also be an interesting study about the importance of context in relation to meaning (each video offers a new context, and thus a slightly different meaning). I think I need to start reading some less nerdy books...

straight outta Cranbrook

A page out of the latest grad catalog offering some advice to new students...

but I don't wanna!

I think one of the most frustrating things about school (besides the total ineptitude of the administration) is spending time doing work you don't want to do, or even care about for that matter instead of doing the work that you feel really pasionately about. I think Mark Twain had it right, "I have never let my schooling interfere with my education."

Ms. Morley's CD

Here are some pics of the prototype (number 2) of Katherines CD. Mike and I have this amazing ability to make things ridiculously more complicated than they need to be. It does however look pretty cool.

Support an OCAD student

An OCAD student is a finalist for the title of North America's hottest vegetarian... May I suggest tying a string to a carrot and just hanging it over the balcony at the front of school and just keeping your fingers crossed.
